I found out that instead of resetting the camera it is also sufficient
to remove and load again the spca5xx module (that's better -- it can be
done remotely ;).

This indicates that the driver already knows what to do to reset the
camera, doesn't it? ;)

Would the debug=5 log be helpful here as well?
