When I capture to a file rather, I can avoid the problem with the
framebuffer. ...and it works!

It seems to work when the camera has powered on just before. In other
words, if I try a second time without resetting the camera it doesn't
work, and only a very small file is captured (2056 bytes), and spcaview
logs something like "Used 26474ms for 1 images => 26474ms/image 0fps."
