It was a bit of pain to start a Gphoto2 camlib, a step-through HOWTO or
something would have been nice :-)

But when it starts to make sense it turns out to be pretty straightforward, I
just have to implement the get picture and delete picture stuff.

As for the protocol, if anyone is interested in finding the commands to take
 a live picture (i.e. not streaming mode, but just telling the camera to take
 a shot at a certain quality and send it down immediately without storing to
 memory) that would be cool too!

I don't even know where to find that feature in the Windows stuff (haven't
used it at *all* except to get USB traces :-)
