The is a target in the Makefile that I use (`make cl`). From time to time we can just update the locally generated ChangeLog into cvs, too (that's the way I use it, anyway. I find it gives a good overview about what happens in the cvs over time). So if you edited the Changelog by hand it would be overwritten! We should decide whether to update it manually, which might lead to a more readable changelog, or to create it from the cvs logs (the latter could as well have a different filename of course!)
